Over 7,500 students will be directly impacted by the grants.  Connally High School was very excited to receive 3 grants from the Foundation totaling $6,609.00!  The following teachers were grant recipients: Loreni Kerecman, Cristina Davis for Labquest: Key to 21st Century Labs, Patricia Smith, Kelly Neal, Liza Keurth, Mary Morrow, Deidra Haun for Our Future's So Bright We've Got to Play Jeopardy!, and Vince Vizcaino, Charles Parr for Navigating Through Mathematics.  THANK YOU PFLUGERVILLE EDUCATION FOUNDATION!

All PISD High School Track Facilities to be Closed to the Public Beginning Nov. 30. Due to persistent problems with vandalism and track misuse, all Pflugerville ISD high school track facilities will be closed to the public beginning Nov. 30. Because the District values physical fitness, all middle school tracks and outdoor areas at several elementary schools are still available for public use.

A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU) will open its newest branch at Connally High School at the beginning of the 2010-11 school year. The new location inside Connally's main entrance, at 13212 North Lamar, will be staffed by three part-time student tellers working at the branch as a part of the Credit Union's internship program, for which they will receive school credit.   Although most basic transactions will be conducted by these interns, an experienced credit union supervisor will oversee office operations and conduct account opening and loan processes. In addition to serving Connally High School students and staff, the branch will also be open to the public.

Connally High School will be hosting the Media Xperiments “It Could Be U Day” kick-off celebration on Tuesday, November 17th from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  We would like to extend an invitation to our Connally community, parents, faculty, staff, & students as we bring a combination of business leaders, media professionals, and a musical group to inspire students to focus, hone their skills, and create compelling multimedia work.  Students will be producing media products each week based on 1 of 6 essential concepts, and uploading them to the Media Xperiments website, www.mediaxperiments.com, in preparation for the Show Your Reel Contest.  The goal is to get students focused on creating a vision for achievement and working towards that goal by utilizing a wide array of multimedia tools. Humberto Pérez, David Conover and the Texas Diversity Council (TXDC), will teach students the skills to constructively evaluate their work and that of their peers.  The event will begin at 3:30 pm with TXDC members and media pros presenting a media workshop in the video tech lab to a small group of students.  Then at 4:20 p.m in the cafeteria, the Media Xperiments “It Could Be U Day” kick-off celebration will launch with an introduction of the program by Executive Director of the Media Diversity Council, Carl Settles.  This will be followed by presentations from media professionals and Connally Digital Media students.  And then culminate with a performance by a musical guest.  For more information please contact Humberto Pérez or David Conover via email at humberto.perez@pflugervilleisd.net, david.conover@pflugervilleisd.net, or chscougarvideo@gmail.com.  You can also check out our website, www.chscougar.tv for more information.  We hope to see many of you there!
