Connally High School will be hosting the Media Xperiments “It Could Be U Day” kick-off celebration on Tuesday, November 17th from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. We would like to extend an invitation to our Connally community, parents, faculty, staff, & students as we bring a combination of business leaders, media professionals, and a musical group to inspire students to focus, hone their skills, and create compelling multimedia work. Students will be producing media products each week based on 1 of 6 essential concepts, and uploading them to the Media Xperiments website, www.mediaxperiments.com, in preparation for the Show Your Reel Contest. The goal is to get students focused on creating a vision for achievement and working towards that goal by utilizing a wide array of multimedia tools. Humberto Pérez, David Conover and the Texas Diversity Council (TXDC), will teach students the skills to constructively evaluate their work and that of their peers. The event will begin at 3:30 pm with TXDC members and media pros presenting a media workshop in the video tech lab to a small group of students. Then at 4:20 p.m in the cafeteria, the Media Xperiments “It Could Be U Day” kick-off celebration will launch with an introduction of the program by Executive Director of the Media Diversity Council, Carl Settles. This will be followed by presentations from media professionals and Connally Digital Media students. And then culminate with a performance by a musical guest.
